In January, Persian Gulf is a light wind area where local effects (sea breeze and land breeze) are important.
In addition, high grounds approaching Hormuz Strait might be a concern.
While getting out of the Gulf, give a look at mid latitude activity: cold front extending further south than normal may disrupt NE monsoon for a time.
It’s all depending of timing:
either you can stay ahead of the front and get the real NE monsoon as fast as you can
or you are caught up by the front and you have better to sail south to avoid uncertain weather.
