It generally means 7:54 (router rounds up, meaning that at 8:00 the boat should be heading in the new direction already, and the next possible turn is too late)

Of course sometimes you have to play with waypoints and sub-10 minute scheduled updates to get as close to the shore as possible os something like that.

Hi zezo,
Been away for a while. Does that mean that VR has changed updates from 07 to 04 etc. ?

The different races update at different minute in order to distribute the server load and optimize the CPU usage.

Sometimes the exact minute is mentioned in the "Game rules".

You can also check it in the time stamp below the "Boat name" box in my chart pages - the minute corresponds to the game update point.

What you may have missed is that for some time VR actually allows programmed turns between the update points, so you can sail 2 minutes in one direction, 3 minutes in another and the other 5 minutes in third one. But it gets tricky because of the way the penalty is executed (2 minutes at half speed but only once per 10-minute cycle, so it's better to use waypoints when in close quarters)

Great - thanks a lot.
I'm sailing RORC so here we have 03,13 etc. I read something about the penalty system, here on your forum, but did'nt got much wiser on that subject ;)
