Since we have to abide by the new "CGU" (General Conditions of Use) which prohibits us from making use of info downloaded from the VR servers, could zezo be slightly modified such that a user enters his lat/lon manually as well as stating whether he is using pro sails.

From there zezo can continue doing its magic without having touched VR servers. :)

Cheers,

John

Hello,
The cheksum is ok as it's possible to be connected on VRTool ;)
And the polar are also avalaible ;)
The only problem is how to get the winds...
Post by iconPost by sonofabi | 2016-10-23 | 01:13:25
really? where do you find the polars, if I may ask?
Post by iconPost by BlackD06-Danfers-AVL | 2016-10-23 | 10:51:34
They are the same of NY-Vendée ;)
Post by iconPost by sonofabi | 2016-10-23 | 16:18:42
ok, great...and where do I find these??? :-)

please excuse my ignorance, but until now I never used external weather routing...and I am terrible with computers...but now with the seemingly totally useless new interface I feel I have to use some external tool to at least get a rough idea on where to go...

but I am struggling because I have no idea what routing software to use and how to get the necessary input data, like polars etc...

do you think it make sense to use the standard noaa wind data set to get meaningful results, because VR seems to use their own wind data, as they claim it will be constantly updated and not every 6h...

forever grateful for your help!
cheers, oliver

Put this polars are the same ;)

The interesting thing is how the forecast is interpolated over time, but we'll have to wait a bit more to see the implementation details.

The polars are easy to find: Point your Browser at virtualregatta.com, press F12 to launch the debugger, and log in to the game. Observe the Network tab in the debugger.
You will see these requests:

Hi Cvetan !

Could you in place to "enter boat name" put two boxes to set geo position ?

It would be a good idea to continue to have fun with your sexy router ;-)

HELLO.
To install a blank card with the updated winds and polar voucher is can be a band-aid solution
Post by iconPost by firestorm | 2016-10-27 | 12:27:00
le nouveau getuser est un fichier binaire crypté
Post by iconPost by BlackD06-Danfers-AVL | 2016-10-27 | 12:50:13
The winds are GFS 1° by step of 3hours interpolated each 20 mns.

So we have world map, manual positioning, if we can have a menu to choose the polars it's OK :)

Hello everybody...

I have the impression that VR broke us our best tools: zezo!

I am on MAC... Is it possible to place the boat manually as well as the destination (right click does not work on MAC)?
Post by iconPost by Mandranova | 2016-10-28 | 10:51:23
Sorry I find... Control buttom and clic...

Hello Cvetan !
Is it possible that the weather to be updated every 3 hours instead of 6 like today?

That would be perfect !!

Long live to zezo :)

Des news ?
Post by iconPost by firestorm | 2016-10-29 | 14:00:36
les vents ne sont pas interpolés toute les 20 minutes mais bien toutes les dix minutes

Merci pour les cartes 2015.
Thanks for the maps (2015)

MIchel,
Les 7 fichiers de polaires représentent les différentes voiles?
Aussi, ce sont les polaire du Vendée ou du challenge Sodebo?
Et puisque n'abuse complètement, :), c'est en noeuds?

Merci!

In the new Vendee Globe VR User Interface wind forecast selection tab, instead of being able to choose "0H" hour for winds, I have "04:02 +1d". Does anybody know what this means? Is it the same as "0H"?

~Thanks
~Merci
