King Island, your time is now. Do your stuff....

Joking aside, how accurate is the no-route-over-land buffer?

For example, if the forecast suggested skimming the keel along the beaches of King Island was the best option, would the router plot it or do we need to be wary of a buffer that could erroneously keep us a mile offshore etc?

You can't trust the router close to land. It may go too far or too close - the resolution is about half nautical mile. The track tool at maximum zoom is slightly better indicator of what you can do.

You can't even trust the game because of all the quirks and rounding errors and constantly changing weather.

I am heading straight towards Kings Island now, for a stop over. They have some horse raising carnival on the 26th. Could be interesting.

Why don't we all agree that we stop at Kings Island. There are no prizes anyway in this race like it was in the past ;-)

Do they even give certificates after the races? Or is that also a thing of the past.

You can't cash your leftover cards and get the credits for radio alerts in the next leg if you don't cross the line.

"I am heading straight towards Kings Island now, for a stop over."
That's what I was rather hoping to hear from the leeward bods ;)

"horse raising carnival on the 26th. Could be interesting."
Indeed! If my SydHob goes awry, I might pop over too, alllbeit a bit late for the main event. One of the few (only?) places in Oz that turns out a decent bit of cheese too :)

Ok, I will see horse racing, eat cheese, drink wine, and (learn to) golf :-)
This is Virtual sailing at its best!
