What's the name of your boat? If you have several indicate which one is your main boat.
I only have one boat, and only participate in VORG.
Boat name is UR2L8.
I sometimes get a question if the name have any meaning. So my answer is, read it out loud, in English :-)
(And then you know why I always try to be ahead of you)

Maybe you should rename your boat now to IM2L8

(just kidding).

The name of my boat is WaterHammer, a phenomenon which travels to liquid filled pipes with speeds up to 1500 m/s.

LOL, well that's a good idea of name for a second boat if I get one :-)

You renamed your boat? Couldn't find your previous name anymore indeed!

yeah, request to VR support and tons of patiences worked out in a hungry polar bear near the south pole.
my JVT-trimaran is considering a stopover on mainland Antarctica ;)

My boat is called Pen Glops I, some kind of tribute to Eric Tabarly.

Mine is "GBR85", which is my OK dinghy sail number! The OK has personal sail numbers between 2 and 100 so you can have pay a fee and have the same number on the sail always, and the association makes a bit of cash as well. 1 is always reserved for the current national champion, so if you see my boat name change then I was lucky! I had many boats ending with 85 or with 85 in the number, just coincidence, so I stuck with it.

That kind of name is quite recognizable as real-world sailor/windsurfer. The way LZ1ABC as a bumper sticker is recognizable as ham radio operator to his peers.

Truffle Hunter was the name of my first Laser - the previous owner told me it was a pig of a boat to sail, and there were plenty of occasions when I tended to agree with him. I hadn't used it on any other boats until VR. Seems to be more than a little appropriate today, especially as I just slept through my Clipper going aground on Tasmania...

Mine was "Boing" since the beginning of VR (name of my boat since Optimist class, 40 years ago), but VR somehow lost registers and data of my account and I had to create a new account with a different name..I was stupid enough to create it provisory with the initials of my name, and then to change it it's a nightmare. So.... I guess it remains like that.

ANZOR is the name of my boat, which me and my father set, because we are both controlling the boat and racing in the VOR, my name is Antonio and his is Zoran, so we combined something random with the first 3 letters of our names, hahah its a weird one :)

Nice! I like it that you are both sharing the same boat.
I would like to find someone in the US to share the boat with, since I live in Sweden. Then we can play all around the clock, that would be awesome.

Mine is a reference to sci-fi/fantasy author Michael Moorcock (I'm not kidding), he had a character named Elric and Stormbringer was the name of his sword. I had an RC 36/600 with the name when I was a kid.

Slightly militant for my tastes as an adult, but I dig names that end in 'er' so I kept it.

Me old boat name was CaptKAOS, changed this leg into WoKeN to remind me to wake up at night to check my position and route which of course I never do anymore resulting in less favorable positions unfortunately...

My boat is ormetkruper. It´s from an old swedish comic (as old as me) about the the difficulties for non Swedish people to learn the Swedish language. It is probably the same for us Swedes with foreign languages.
I think it is only swedish who understand it :-) Do a search on YT for ormet kryper and see for yourself.

BTW I am a total newbie on this game. Have never set my foot on a sailing boat and never played any sailing games. A FB friend told me about it and I gave it a try. Had to learn the basics on sailing with google as teacher. Gone from place 28000 in leg 1 to 3400 in leg 3. Now it´s getting harder to get higher up :-D. Found this router halfways leg 3 and it ´s a good help.

My boat name is n'Lasse. The n' is a definite article before a male name in the area of Sweden where I am born (Jämtland). That is, I am The Lasse, and not another Lasse. It's dialectal :-)
Post by iconPost by Irish Temper | 2018-01-09 | 23:33:53
Hi All,

My boat name is "Irish Temper" from Canada. I had heard it once before and thought it was a neat name for a boat given my Irish last name. This is my first VOR where I've paid for the updgrades and am taking it "serious". haha.
Post by iconPost by DeepBrine | 2018-01-10 | 21:38:48
"DeepBrine" here. Got a couple of bottles of the stuff sitting on a shelf in the living room from my last few cruises in the Red Sea. Figured it was a nice oceanic name that was unlikely to be duplicated. Also, a bit salty. ;-)

feriber is my very first username related with Internet.

It was the nick IBM gave me when I signed as a new user for the IBM Global Network, (the only worldwide dial-up Internet service provider at 1994) throug the venerable OS/2 WARP.
