I think rather than going into a tirade about one upsetting bug or whatever, I'd tell him that we'd all simply appreciate more effort from the VR staff to show that they care about the time, effort, emotion, and money that the users invest. Specifically, it would be nice if they'd communicate more openly and sooner about planned changes, that they'd keep the public informed about known bugs and progression toward resolution, and that they not surprise users with sudden changes.

More specifically in the context of this forum, it would also be nice if they could view Cvetan as a helpful informal ally and put past conflicts aside. It's important to recognize that if Cvetan wasn't running Zezo, the very small minority of users who have their own routing software would dominate all of the races. It wouldn't be fun for anyone serious enough to pay for races without their own routing software, and VR would have fewer paying users. But... I'd be hesitant to bring this up... it seems to be a touchy subject.

I would defiinetely bring that lost point up. Without zezo, I wouldn't be playing. It is the missing link to make this game playable and fun.

And indeed, listen to the customers and COMMUNICATE openly. Update versions with changelog. New features. Improvements etc.

If he doesn't listed, he may have to sell his VR70

Better don't mention zezo. Philippe's first requirement for any interaction is not writing bad things about VR. That includes mentioning bugs, comments about developer competence, complaints about pricing and everything like that.

I firmly believe that for the users the freedom to share information is more important than having a clickable link in the game.

BTW, it appears that there is actually a real sailor at the head of VR.
Why don't they understand the need for polars on a competition context ?

I think this virtual sailing has so many same things than playing chess...
For a beginner it is kind a adventure in the first games, although no success.
But when you start to dig in how the game works, you can lose your whole life to it.
It is same here, you will never be the all winning master.
To be successful in this game in the long run you need experience in real life, lots of thinking what if and etc.
It is this side of the game, than interests me. I am learning all the time, how the winds on this planet works
And it so fascinating because we are using truly one-design boats here, that usually is not the case in offshore racing.
And we are so many.

as NMS (no money sailor) it is quite fun to choose in which race to spend you credits and what options to choose. And that is part of the game. I have accepted that top 200 will not happen a lot and top 1000 in VOR and top 500 in other races can be considered good.. So far 1x top 100 in VOR and 3x top 200 in half a year.

Also part of the NMS-game is when and how to use your few navcards.

I hope for Mr Guigne that there are more than 500 players. In the Loic Peyron race we saw that is was 900 there. Extrapolate to VOR to maybe 2000? And Clipper 1000?

Anyway, good to beat every race quite a number of fullpackers ;)

Fun game, very strategic and long term stamina. Not for the click-click-click youth. And very hard for not sailors.

Of course, we are ever comparing our results with the old salties. Just now, we all are between 1,000th and 2,000th place in VOR (we do expected a better place in this); ranging from 970th to 1800th, in Clipper (which seems reasonably); and two of us in 361th and 571th places, while Phil is in 5425th, in Rolex China (poor Phil).

Hi agree with Mike, the game is fun if you do not pay.
But if you do pay and you spend nights to get a good ranking and then you got a bug that ruins all the work done then.... fun has gone to say the least

And again let's not forget it is just a game, which by the way has nothing to do with real sailing (or at least it has to do only with the meteorology and forecast part)

I would start for luffing him against the comitee boat. And after luff over him all the time. Rising lots of red flags. And force him to make a chinese roll.In each downwind leg. Ask him to go Stealth. And then come out again to see if he doesn't forget the button. Would take him all the time to layline. And then turn back to him, round the buoy and tack to the place where he is coming from, forcing him another penalty...making him doing lots of 360.
