Sorry if discussed before, but I noticed a difference in boat position/routing between manual input and using VR Dashboard when done at the same time? Which one is right? And if the Dashboard is right have I been using the manual method with a certain error? I always wondered why losing places especially during tricky turns/close quarters. I understand the 10m limitation Zezo comes with. Please, thank you.

If by "manual" you mean what you see on the graphical VR screen, then yeah, that's BS. The Dashboard shows what's really going on at the server.

If you see a discrepancy between current WS and direction in the Dashboard and on a currently run Zezo route (generated precisely at a 10 minute update), then there is a sync/interpolation issue. This normally only happens during the period when a new forecast is downloading and when you are very near a transition. In that case, what's really happening is what you see in the Dashboard. You will have to route the old fashioned way until they sync up.

Yes, manual as in typing the game GPS coordinates into the Zezo router. They do change minute by minute if im right, but the position difference between Dashboard and manual GPS is too large to justify the minute interval. Either way, I will take the Dashboard position from now when routing and see how that goes. Thanks a lot BooBill

Clicking the steering wheel in the Dashboard the second you see an update will give you a route with the most accurate possible start position (and the least amount of effort). It also coordinates the start time of the routing with the start position.

An Ultim moving a 40 knots can move a mile in the time it takes you to manually enter coordinates. Near a frontal transition, that's huge.

It wouldn't hurt to click the "donate" button either :)

I don�t know mate. My real position is way past Ceuta and the router still has me North of Ceuta/South of Algeciras. Manual input gives me the correct position.

Are you routing from the Fleet tab perhaps? The Fleet tab is not automatically updated.

From the race log. But I guess you can only have a precise update at the end of every 10 minute cycle, right?

Make that 5 minutes, but yes. And It's not on the minute most of the time, more like 30 seconds later.

So for an accurate reading, 30s after a 5 minute interval, you go to the home page of VR, inject the Dashboard, select/load your race and off you go?!

I've never seen anybody inject the dashboard but basically, yes. You could also have the dashboard running and watch when the next postion update arrives.
