What is the purpose of the green line, what informations it brings me, is the black one enough ?

Green line is the path of your boat wit a fixed angle to the wind.
Red is loxodrome - sail at fixed heading.
Blue is orthodrome - straight line on the sphere.

Many times there is more than one possible path, and the dots/circles on those lines can be compared against the isochrone lines. That gives you quick info if you are sailing optimal route or falling behind the possible distance covered in given time.
