Didn't take long for the new surprises, list them here:

Now 11 hours between the magic 'pot of crap'

Now instead of 4 card option it is 3.

Congrats VOR for trying to force all to pay high bucks per leg to have fun spending hours to race around the world for 11 months FOR NO PRIZES!

Sooner or later things are going to get back to where we started. No cards, no bonus credits, paid options. Or functionally equivalent.

Got 350 credits for 95 cards in the Clipper. Go figure.

3 cards every 11 hours in leg 3 ...
by the time we reach leg 6 we have to pay cards to the barrel

I opted to pray to the barrel this leg, not purchase the full options pack and hope for decent cards every 8 hours. Only after race start did I learn that time between "gifts" increased to 11 hours and number of cards was reduced. VR command is about as transparent as the effing government. "Hold my beer, watch while I screw them again!"

ahahahah, hope in the barrel, they only give to you the cards you don't need.
spend the money to buying hundred´s of them, and maybe you can do a pretty setup in your boat.
good luck Hoodwinkend.
hhahahaha

I currently have 43 credits, if I manage to reach the 500 credit buy back at the end of this leg, I might just manage to buy a pot of polish for leg 5... \º/

the only thing you need is a minimum of 600 credits for joining the magic-boat filled with cheaters.

Does this seem fair? If you don't buy anything, you get the barrels, and you can "sell back" any cards from the barrel that you don't use at the end of the leg. But if you buy the full pack for a leg, you don't get any barrels during that leg, so you have nothing to sell back. If I buy a pack, I shouldn't be penalized by losing the barrels. That's just simple math.

You can never buy the equivalent of free programming cards you get for your hard cash.

Even if you add that same amount of hard cash to the earned credits but don't go for the full pack.

The price you pay for those credits is not money. It's frustration and sleep deprivation, and that's what the full pack saves you.

Now, I don't say I approve. It's just my view of the situation.

Zezo: Understood, but it seems more fair if buying a full pack had no effect on the "free" barrel cards. If the barrels kept coming, I'd have cards to sell back to recoup at least some of the cost of the full pack, even if they only pay a reduced amount. If they calculated it correctly, they wouldn't lose any money, but at least we wouldn't feel ripped-off. ;)

Aside from that, are we allowed to "gift" some of our barrel cards to friends, like we did in previous VVORs?

(And hello again. This is Chuck Lantz. I think we communicated during a few previous VORs. I worked on the VOR and VVOR internet team in 2000-2001)

Gifts don't work with this game economics - you'd register 10 accounts to collect cards and credits for your primary boat.
