Regarding the use of cards in themselves no, but depending on what you do with it, it can (gybe / tack)

ok, great. Yes I know there is a penalty if I gybe or tack. Not really sure what tacking means exactly. But I suppose I need basicly to cross through the wind? (from port to stb) or something like that...(I am not a sailor IRL). Anyway, great, I just need to do some minor changes in the heading like five times this night, but I prefer to sleep and program it. Or what is the best? Waypoints, or programmation? I feel I trust more in the programmation, and it allows me to use TWA I suppose.

Tack as a noun is the side from which the wind is blowing (left/right, port/starboard tack)

As a verb it means crossing to the other side while sailing against the wind for a moment.

Gybe is crossing to the other side while sailing downwind.

Waypoints are useful when sailing close to the rocks (but they were still buggy last time I used them, so can get you in big trouble, turning your boat back)
