Difference of boat speed between real boats and VR boats

Hi
my boat is at the moment JUST in BETWEEN Boris Hermannn and R. Attanasio
The wind angle 68degrees and speed is the same -12kts for them and me both on VR and on VG official cartograpie page
my course is very near to their

however they make 20kts boat speed mine is only 13
I may not be an accomplished sailor like they are :)))) but why is this difference in boat speed??

and I have full package and everything...
Can we therefore conclude that real boats' speed are actual because we receive them through satellite but the wind speed and directions can never be real time actual for us,
Therefore we, virtuals, never sail with real conditions but on predictions
:((
Since a lot of AIS data including wind speed and direction are being emitted by real boats and other vessels in the area, would it not be nice if that data is integrated into the game?

Hello,

I do not pretend to know ;) and ...

We do not have currents and wind state in VR so if the sea is "with you" we miss that extra speed, moreover last VG VR were faster than real boats.

So ...
It might be possible that they somehow nerfed the polar a bit ;)

My 0,02 thoughts ;)

VR Imoca polars 2024 are exactly the same as Imoca 2020.
However real Imocas 2024 have probably improved compared to 2020...
