Funny thing I noticed the other day. If you google "virtualregatta tips" a "featured answer" box pops up with a link to a interview with a leg winner:

Current VR edition breaks at least 3 of those:

1) Polars are not visible
2) Weather updates are not officially announced
3) Future forecast is not freely available
6) The game is not much fun

Back in 2011/2012 8 or 9 out of 10 leg winners sent me a personal thank you email and most of them told me that they wanted to mention my site but it was against VOR rules. Because big race organizers don't like to give publicity for free.

I think just one Russian player got away with official "Big Thank you to zezo" in the leg press release / winner interview ;-)

Crasy way of driving a buisness. The passion and fun is getting away. Vr schould be more than happy for "Zezo". The more you learn abouth it, the more fun it gets.

Then it was United Games who did the game, and problem was not with them, it was with the real VOR indeed and their contract terms.

UG did kind of "Leg winner interview" with me after the race was over (after disqualifying my personal account for use of a bot, but that was a fair game so no bad feelings)

That said, I'd relocate to Amsterdam within a week if Marijn gives me a call ;-)

Hi Cvetan,

that reminds me of the live chats in the game, the jokes and serious conversations about real and game sailing and your bot wasn't always perfect as i remember, new sealand to itajai something went wrong, at least you could sleep while the rest woke up multiple times during the night steering boats.

l kept a copy of all the interviews with UG, also yours. Good memories. Marijn was really happy with your support for the game. Volvo company where and are still bastards. Can not understand why they sold the company to Chinese....

Tip One ought to be ( 1 ) use sailing simulator by zezo.
Or don�t take part. As you probably will not win.

So i guess you done by now at least 5 mini transat or volvo leg in real life?
When you are so smart - if you didnot know Vestas won leg one because they had best computer model for that leg.

FlatEarth, ! you are so right, so why not let them all have the same and equal aids . That way it would be a fair race. And then the winner would be a worthy winner.

Dear Glugwort

I've sailed two times the Tour de France � la Voile, Fastnet 2011, Rund Skagen and a couple of other
offshore races. And guess what. Not even Rolex provided us with routing-aids, we had to bring our own..

We used Adrena, an excellent racing software. And believe me, all serious competitors used
a weather-routing software.

So there is no real big difference here. VR ist just providing the simulation, it's our job to race and use
whatever aids we think are appropriate.
