That means you are still running the previous app version.

As discussed in the other thread, you can actually downgrade the Android app even after the fact. No such luck with iOS.

But they will probably fix it anyway. It's just someone did not think of removal of cards with carded games still running.

Do you think they're viewing it as a bug to fix? That they intend for people to be able to get credits via their race finishes, for the purpose of buying future boat upgrades? And that this is just a removal of the card system?

Or... Do you think they've reverted to Credits being something you can only get via purchase? Such that once people have burned their backlog of credits, the only way to race for free will be with no upgrades?

It may be the latter... If so, then once I've burned through my credits, I'll probably enter a lot fewer races. I don't like racing if I can't be fully competitive, so I'd go into a mode of only doing races that I feel are worth buying the full pack for. Which is fewer than it used to be, because FP's are so expensive now.

I think if that's what they've done, then once people run out of their saved credits, the fleets will be a lot more like they were a few years ago... which was mostly a lead fleet of full pack boats and a second, larger fleet, with no-options boats... Very very few partial-options boats. I can't see people paying money to buy credits to buy one sail. I haven't run the numbers, but I'm guessing that if you want to buy enough credits to get all of the options, it probably costs more than the full pack.

The disappearing of the "congratulations" screen is probably a bug. You can't even see and reclaim your VSR points.

P.S. A new Android app just arrived, and it's fixed. But I've already reclaimed my credits with a previous version.

I think the credits are too addictive to remove. There is the feeling that you get a bit more than you pay for, and a betting element that rewards better performance financially.

The ranking/rewards screen is back in the browser as well. I got credits for the rank but cards were not refunded. I guess you still received it with the old APK?

In the last few month I've been doing cat 2/3 races to collect credits and spend them on cat 4/5 races. Buying enough programming cards was difficult (for me at least) but now VR has killed this practice altogether :-(

According to https://forum.virtualregatta.com/topic/13407-cr%C3%A9dit-vsr/page/2/?tab=comments#comment-274446 programming and waypoints are free, but at most 2 (two) can be set at a time in freebie mode, 9 in FP and 15 in FP+VIP.

Autosail is always active in FP mode and can not be deactivated. In freebie mode autosail is activated for 24hrs, can not be deactivated early, and can be extended no sooner than 30min before it expires.

Thanks for the updates. I've been tending to pay for FP for events where I'm going to need all of the sails and a lot of programmation or waypoint cards (such as coastal races like C600 or NCR) and then using credits on events where you're offshore in relatively stable wind most of the time (such as most of the long distance record attempts). Sounds like that approach will still work, with this bug fixed. Except that the limit of 2 in free mode will sometimes be painful.

So, my plan for La Mauricienne was to use credits to get all the options, then purchase 1 month of VIP in order to get the 15 program moves at a time. What Hardtack said above concerns me though. Will Free+VIP not get you the 15 programs at a time with unlimited replenishment?

He did not say that FP is required.
But as programs and waypoints will be free, I'd be suprised if FP wasn't required.

for La Mauricienne, I bought the options with credits and I have VIP status. I confirm I have 15 moves at a time with unlimited replenishment.

Will just have to set autosails at a reoccurring time, so I don't have to get up in the middle of the night to set that. I've blown sooo many races by going to bed and not noticing that my autosail was going to expire before I got up.

So, I've started La Mauricienne with full options, purchased with credits. My plan was to get the VIP package just for this race to get the 15 program moves. However, I held off on that when I realized it was EUR 10, with a 3 month minimum. That's about what the full pack would have cost. I can always add it if it becomes critical at some point.

Early impression is having unlimited free program moves, just 2 at a time is not such a bad thing. In the past, running on credits I would hoard cards and be reluctant to use them for things like precise TWA adjustments. With the new system, you have virtually unlimited ability to do that, as it's going to replenish in 10 minuts as soon as you pass that point.
